we paid £1100 for 7 days (including breakfast), we got a ground floor room, nice bathroom, though water coming out of tap was brown. there was no kettle (I got one from reception), no cups, spoon etc., there was no free drinking water, we saw 4 cockroaches, floor was grubby, feet were dirty after walking from shower to bed, only possible socket was under counter by unplugging fridge, usb sockets by bed didn't work, bathroom light switch was actually above sink at far end of bathroom, a real pain, room was next to big metal gate that rattled in wind, regular power outages were especially annoying at night, when power come back on a time would play and TV would switch on (same thing happens when you put key on slot to get power on in room. on day 3 (of 7) we decided to get out, and booked flights to Praia on another island, there we got a fantastic 2 bedroom apartment for 2/5ths of price

After some difficulty checking in (the reception staff did not appear to have record of our booking) and help from Air BnB we had a lovely stay at Sobrado. The hotel is an easy walkable distance from the centre of Santa Maria and we also used the sunbeds on the beach which are made available to guests. It is a well known hotel with tour companies so we were easily able to organise pick ups for tours and travel to the airport. We didn’t really use the breakfast buffet on offer as a lot of it was uncovered and there were a few flies around. The croissants we did try were quite dry. The hotel reception staff were very helpful with any questions/issues we had

Great stay! The place was clean, with a comfy bed and a reliable room service. The host was flexible about check-in time, although the location required a bit of a walk to the beach. The pool isn't what you expect, just a tiny corner filled with water. Considering the price, it was definitely worth it overall.

I had a great stay at Sobrado. The staff is particularly nice! The mattresses are not very firm so if you have back problems it’s not the best, but the environment is really nice. About a 10 min walk from the most touristy street.

Hotel qui se veut chic mais qui fait cheap. La propreté était douteuse dans la salle de bain (traces dégueulasses sur la poignée et sur la portes). Manquait egalement le balais a chiottes. Les prises USB d'un coté du lit ne fonctionnait pas. Les finitions sont hasardeuses. La lumière devant la baie vitrée ne s'éteint pas la nuit (il y a des rideaux mais qui ne bloquent pas toute la lumière). Le lit était bien trop mou. Pas de bouteille d'eau d'accueil comme partout ailleurs (la font payer 2€...). Nous ont appelé un taxi pour l'aéroport qui voulait nous arnaquer. Petit dej et patio avec piscine très bien par ailleurs. Bref, expérience mitigée, c'est pas trop cher mais pas du tout à la hauteur de ce qui est presenté...

Staff gentilissimo e disponibile. Posizione comoda. Ambiente accogliente, pulito con piscina, palestra e solarium. Disponibili lettini gratuiti in spiaggia. Consigliatissimo anche il ristorante Piri Piri attiguo all'hotel.
